Our philosophy is that 道 (pronounced as ‘Tao’ or “Dao’), the Way to live a life in harmony with the principles of the universe, should involve both the integration and the discipline of your body and mind and that the subtle energy ‘Qi’ plays an important role in connecting body and mind. We believe that the universe and even life are in fact all about movements of different energies and that man is a small scale universe. According to this precept, as long as you restore the balance of your body and of the mind, you should be able to not only heal and rejuvenate yourself but also enjoy the lifespan which nature has given to your birth. With this vision and philosophy, we teach Qigong, Tai Chi and Taekwondo.

Who Is Master Han ?
Master Han Sang Bok is the president of the International Golden Rishi Qigong & Tai Chi (also known as the World Golden Rishi Academy, USA), an affiliate of the International Golden Rishi Academy. He was born in 1969 and started learning Taekwondo in 1974. Growing older, he only got more and more interested in all kinds of body-mind disciplines and kept learning passionately at all costs. In 1990’s, he founded and ran Han’s Dragon Martial Arts Academy in Chicago and later moved to San Diego, where he continues to teach.
What Do We Teach, Why and How?
You can learn different types of Chinese martial arts San Diego with us. Qigong is the cover term for the kind of practice, which aims at maximizing the flow of energy in a natural yet most efficient way. It will probably be the best solution to remove the physical and mental blockages or unhealthy energies which you have been accumulating and are literally trapped inside you. The beauty of Qigong is that it re-connects you (a small universe) to nature (the big universe), which we humans have alienated ourselves from.
Tai Chi, a marriage of Qigong and martial art, will make your body stronger, more flexible and invigorated. Since you have to understand and memorize some details, it will stimulate your brain. Performing Tai Chi synchronizing your movements with other people will also give you a very strong sense of belonging.
Last but not least, as a 7dan holder, Master Han truly enjoys teaching Taekwondo as well especially to children. Since Taekwondo uses the Yang energy and also takes a lot of courage, it is good for those who need lots of actions and challenges or who want to develop confidence through overcoming psychological barriers such as fear.
Again, because Master Han is not at all interested in making his students win prizes or medals in competitions, he moderates his curriculum to make it 100% safe by all means. Master Han utilizes his knowledge and wisdom he has earned through many decades’ hard work and trials and errors, in tailoring to each student’s needs and conditions. He will help you to choose which form of discipline you should start with, but many people end up wanting to expand their horizons because, just like people or food, different disciplines have different ‘personalities’ and ‘tastes’.
All three disciplines we teach at the International Golden Rishi Qigong & Tai Chi need a diligent practice. It may take a while before you start feeling any positive change. However, exactly because Master Han relies only on natural training methods based on the Yin Yang Five Element philosophy and the ancient Asian medicine, only if you faithfully follow his instructions, there won’t be such thing as side effect. (By the way, the training under Master Han is not supposed to replace the role of your medical doctor.) Gradually, though, you will surely restore and improve your health. The benefits include but are not limited to: generating more energy; getting better with flexibility and balance; rejuvenating internal organs; revitalizing the immune system; increased ability to manage daily stress and to concentrate; self-reliance and self-confidence. Developing a friendship across genders and ages is a bonus, as many families who have been practicing with Master Han are enjoying. Master Han’s Teachers
Master Han’s entire life has been a whole-hearted dedication to learning any accessible form of body-mind discipline. Among all the great teachers he has met on his journey, two people have equally been the biggest influence on his life.The first is the Grand Master Chen Xiao Xing, who is a 19th generation lineage holder and the Executive Principal of Chenjiagou Taijiquan School of China. Master Han is the first Korean among his disciples, and Master Han keeps teaching Tai Chi the same way he learned from Master Chen
